Description:
|
Under supervision, develop,
prepare, and implement home visitation sessions with developmentally
appropriate resources and curriculum. Actively identify and recruit program
participants.
Provide materials and lessons to assist parent/caregiver in preparation for
school readiness, including educating parents in their home through the
modeling of activities that provide a strong educational basis for school
success for their children. Provide ongoing communication with parents to insure
that services are received in a timely manner.
Will provide resources and referrals (especially within the community)
as needed to families, including follow-up contact and related activities.
Collect, record, and input confidential data on participating families on
an ongoing basis, as well as maintain records of all contacts, referrals,
and services provided for participating families.
Assist with coordination of workshops for families and parents
(family literacy, parenting skills, nutrition, health, etc.).
Interpret for workshops, parent meetings, and general
communications, as well as translation of written materials.
Perform clerical duties including record keeping, preparation of
routine report, filing, and posting.
Performs
other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
|
Minimum AA degree in a human services field such as Child
Development/Human Development, Family Services, Health, Social Work, or
related field. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in same fields
preferred. Minimum two year direct service experience in an
integrated family service program or infant/toddler service program.
Bilingual in Spanish or Southeast Asian languages desirable (may be
required in some target areas).Experience working with low income and
high-risk families of diverse cultures is desirable. In-depth
knowledge of family development. Ability to develop and maintain
supportive, respectful, and empowering relationships with families,
children, and coworkers. Advanced skill in effective communication, both
verbal and written. Knowledge of adult learning processes
desirable. Knowledge of Head Start philosophy, Guidelines, and
Performance Standards, and child abuse reporting laws. Ability to travel
from site to site and home to home within Fresno County.
Must have
valid California Driver's License and automobile with adequate
insurance. Physical examination and TB screening are required after
employment. CPR/First Aid required per State Licensing
regulations. Fingerprinting required and must clear as a condition of
employment.
