Description:

Provides
direct services to families enrolled in the Home Base Program. Responsible
for spending a minimum of 1 ½ hours per week/32 weeks per year (except for
weeks set aside for training, recruitment and reassessment) with each
individual family enrolled in the Home Base Program. Responsible for
carrying out day-to-day activities of the work program as outlined by FCEOC
Head Start. Works to maintain community support for Home Base Program. Makes
family referrals to other agencies and facilitates the referral process.
Prepares accurate records of referrals, follow-up of referral and other
family records as deemed necessary for meeting program objectives, and
submits them as required.

Requirements:

Minimum A.A./A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education
or Child Development with one (1) full year experience in a child
development program and two (2) years experience in a community or family
service program; OR Minimum A.A./A.S. degree in Child and Family Studies,
Home Economics, Psychology, or Social Work with at least 18 college units
in E.C.E. or Child Development (of which 12 units must be core Child
Development/ECE core units and enrolled in six additional units in Child
Development classes within the next concurrent semesters), with one (1)
full year experience in a child development program and two (2) years
experience in a community or family service program. Must have knowledge
and experience in child development and early childhood education; the
principles of child health, safety and nutrition; adult learning
principles, and family dynamics. Ability to communicate effectively and
motivate people of various socio-economic background. Knowledge of
community resources. Skills to link families with appropriate agencies and
services. Ability to keep accurate records. Ability to travel from site to
site and home to home within Fresno County. Must be bilingual
(Spanish/English). Must have valid California Driver's License and
automobile with adequate insurance. Annual DMV printout is required.
Infant/Child/Adult first Aid/CPR and Food Handling certification within six
months of employment is required. Physical examination and TB screening are
required after employment.
