Description:

Responsible
for coordination, development and oversight of the Sanctuary counseling
services. Develop and expand the counseling services offered at the Sanctuary
to include providing individual, group, and family therapy. Oversee
coordination, scheduling, and delivery of parenting classes. Recruit, place
and supervise interns completing their Marriage and Family Therapist
fieldwork requirements. Ensure that counseling interns are properly
supervised as required by the Sanctuary Youth Shelter and California State
University, Fresno. Ensure that counseling staff meet
all Agency and licensing personnel requirements to work in the facility.
Ensure quality delivery of counseling services for shelter residential
clients, street outreach and drop-in center clients (such as parental
contact and notifications; mandated reporting; and incident reporting under
the guidelines of Community Care Licensing). Provide counseling to clients
as needed, or when situations are too complex for interns to perform
counseling themselves. Direct, review and monitor each counseling shift
worked daily to ensure quality services, provision, and appropriate client
file documentation. Review counseling staff assignments and evaluate
effectiveness of service delivery. Complete counseling staff evaluations
and ensure that new counseling staff are scheduled
for appropriate on-the-job training. Recommend counseling staff corrective
actions to improve job performance when necessary. In accordance with
Agency and educational institution policy/procedures, implement informal
counseling staff performance corrective interventions, and make
recommendations regarding formal disciplinary actions. Participate, as
directed, in formal disciplinary processes. Identify and schedule necessary
and appropriate skills enhancement training for counseling staff. Provide
supervision for staff working to complete their MSW
or MFT programs, when appropriate and needed. Identify and/or develop
evaluation tools to track counseling outcomes and performance measures.
Assure timely completion and submission of information/reports regarding
counseling activities and operations.
Complete reports as
assigned. Assist in completion of
grant applications or providing necessary data for them, as
requested. Attend program/agency
meetings and act as a representative of Sanctuary programs in the
community, as directed. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
|
Basic
knowledgeable of the Welfare and Institutions Code and other laws affecting
children and families in the State of California and CPR and First Aid
training preferrable. Must be available to work and respond to program
needs during non-traditional hours. Prior experience working in a homeless
and/or youth program is highly desirable.
Must be a
licensed LMFT, LCSW, or Licensed Clinical/Counseling Psychologist (or Board
Certified Psychiatrist) and have practiced professionally for two years.
Must be licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.At least
two years experience demonstrating the ability to effectively supervise
staff, preferably in human services field.
Knowledge of data collection practices and documentation
requirements. Valid California Driver’s license, automobile, and
adequate auto insurance. Must pass medical examination and TB clearance.
Department of
Justice fingerprint clearance, child abuse index, and statement of prior
criminal convictions.
