The U.S Department of Labor recently announced the award of nearly $80 million in YouthBuild grants to support a pre-apprenticeship training program for at-risk youth. The Fresno EOC Local Conservation Corps (LCC)/YouthBuild Fresno received a three year, $1.1 million grant, the highest amount awarded per site.  According to U.S. Department of Labor, the grants range from $650,000 to $1.1 million and will fund 77 YouthBuild programs in 46 states. Tire Amnesty Event

The City of Fresno Code Enforcement Division and Fresno EOC Local Conservation Corps Recycling Program, using grant funding available from CalRecycle, will hold a Waste Tire Amnesty Day event on Saturday, May 27, 2017 to allow City of Fresno citizens to dispose of their unwanted waste tires.  Some event restrictions include: participants must be City of Fresno residents, no tractor or diesel tires, no business-generated tires, and each resident is limited to (9) tires per vehicle. Fresno County Office of Emergency Services asked Fresno EOC's Local Conservation Corps for assistance in installing a water tank for a Fresno County family.
