Domestic Violence (English Student Film)
Our assignment was to make a video on self-knowledge or decision making. We chose to make a video based on the idea “Decide, Don’t Slide” that we learned in class. We can relate to this type of video because it’s about topics that happen in real life. We learned as part of this lesson: think before you go out and do something you’ll regret, think about your responsibilities, don’t put your hands on people, and family should come first. We practiced teamwork, collaborating, communicating, leadership, and camera techniques.
Decide, Don’t Slide (English Student Film)
Our assignment was to make a video on self-knowledge or decision making. We chose to make a video based on the idea “Decide, Don’t Slide” that we learned in class. We chose this topic because this type of event happens in life: people try to find the easy way out instead of doing the right thing. We learned from this lesson: think before you act. We practiced teamwork, collaborating, communicating, leadership, and camera techniques.
Noir (Media Arts Student Film)
Our assignment was to show our visual understanding of course, bias, and fallacy in our media class. We chose the topic of a Noir film about a murder because in the era of the 1930s the majority of people were biased toward people of color, and skin color was used for fallacious arguments and actions. You’ll see it was normal for black men to go to jail for things they didn’t do. We learned from this lesson: multiple aspects of fallacious arguments and the sources they come from, to think before you act, don’t assume: gather evidence, to get your information from a good source. We practiced teamwork, public speaking, acting, proper grammar, professionalism, no cursing, using dress-up, costumes, and props, sound-effects, camera and Go-Pro techniques, and being dramatic.
Robbery (Media Arts Student Film)
Our assignment showed our visual understanding of source, bias, and fallacy. We chose this topic because people get robbed every day. We learned that everything is not as it may seem. Don’t always believe what people say: get it from the source!
