How long can youth stay at the Sanctuary Youth Shelter?
Youth can stay up to 21-days maximum. Case Managers work with families to determine the appropriate length of stay dependent on the client’s needs.

Do I have to pay for my child to go to the Sanctuary Youth Shelter?
No, shelter services are free to families in crisis.

Can youth go to school while in the Sanctuary Youth Shelter?
Yes, youth are encouraged to attend their home school during their shelter stay. Shelter staff work closely with each school to ensure transportation is provided, however parents might have to provide transportation or allow their youth to ride the city bus. While in the Shelter, youth are protected under the McKinney-Vento Act if they are unable to attend school due to the school's location.
