Fresno EOC is once again participating in the Annual Homeless Point-in-Time Count. What is the Homeless Point-in-Time Count? Last week over 100 homeless people received hot chocolate and soup at the annual ‘Warming the Homeless’ event put on by Sanctuary & Youth Services and Health & Dental Services. Warming the Homeless 2018

Volunteers & Donations needed to Help us Warm the Homeless! Volunteers are needed on Friday, December 21 to help us distribute items to homeless youth and chronically homeless adults. There is a Volunteer Orientation at 2 pm at Fresno EOC Sanctuary (2336 Calaveras Street, Fresno 93721). Lydia and Jeremiah's Story

Lydia and Jeremiah, two students, were recently homeless and they shared their thoughts on the experience with Fresno EOC Sanctuary Outreach to the Streets (SOS). Lydia describes the struggle of being homeless, "I was going place to place and being told unexpectedly to leave. I was very scared and depressed, but even though I went through a big struggle, I never gave up." Meet the SOS Team

Sanctuary Outreach to the Streets (SOS) is a mobile team searching for runaway, homeless and street youth seven nights a week. The team is comprised of three dedicated Outreach Workers who are supported by student interns from California State University, Fresno Social Work Department. SOS team conducts searches in areas where most people do not consider places meant for human habitation including freeway underpasses and abandoned buildings. Youth Resource Fair

SOS Saved!

SOS project has been saved! Fresno EOC Sanctuary and Youth Services program has received funding for the next three years and can expand their street outreach services. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families has awarded Fresno EOC $200,000 to serve runaway, homeless and street youth for the first project year.
