The Fresno EOC. Foster Grandparent Programs held its year end recognition luncheon at the Wedgewood Banquet Center on Thursday, December. 4
The event acknowledged the hard work and dedication provided by so many generous individuals. All volunteers were recognized from new enrollees to those who have provided an outstanding 22 years of service volunteering 15 hours or more per week. In total, the volunteers accounted for over 70,000 service hours annually mentoring children and young adults in Fresno and Madera County.
This year there were more than 63 recipients to receive award from the Foster Grandparent Program.
The luncheon was attended by more than 100 volunteers and staff from various organizations, Head Start Centers and other locations where the volunteers service. The attendees were greeted by the Fresno EOC Foster Grandparent staff, entertained by Brian Henry, Worship Pastor of Central Community Church. Rev. Paul McCoy NAACP Board member provided a brief presentation on the appreciation and dedication of the Foster Grandparent Volunteers being highly valued members of the community and school team. Speaking specifically to Foster Grandparents providing assistance to children each week, receiving the love of the children and the respect of the teachers and staffs. Because of the consistency of each volunteer, they continue to achieve considerable results and are instrumental in making this year’s celebration a huge success.
