Paid Summer Internship Program
Fresno EOC provides opportunities to young adults to participate in a summer internship program. Fresno EOC successfully pairs young adults with local employers in rapid growing industries. The summer internship program is designed to target high school graduates transitioning into post-secondary education, offering them the opportunity to be mentored by a leader in their respective industry.
Selected candidates participate in an employment readiness workshop that focuses on job search skills and soft skills needed to be successful in today’s working world. This is an opportunity to be hands-on in the workforce within Fresno County. Space is limited, therefore a selection process determines who receives an internship.
Applications are made available to graduating high school seniors that are interested summer internships.
Keep watch for the 2021 application window in the Spring of next year. If you have any questions concerning the program or would like to offer an intern position, please call (559) 263-1100.
In need of donations after receiving an influx of applicants
This year the program has received 337 applicants who have expressed a need for a paid summer internship.
The number of applicants are too telling of the great interest and needs of young people. Unfortunately, the program is faced with restricted resources and can only provide 40 paid internships. To meet the needs of young people, Fresno EOC is asking for donations from the community, public, businesses, and private entities to expand the number of paid internship opportunities provide this summer.
During this pandemic, the United States is facing the highest unemployment rate since The Great Depression. The Department of Labor reported that April’s unemployment rate was 14.4% and 13.3% in May. Now more than ever, young people need paid work experience. This experience furthers their educational and career goals while contributing to a local family’s financial success. Please consider donating. Your donation can make a difference in the life of a young person.
