Students enjoyed this Interact Club project and others, saying they provide an excellent opportunity to connect with their peers while serving the community. “You get to meet people and work on community projects. I had a great time bonding with my schoolmates. Plus, doing things for people makes me feel good,” said SOUL Interact Club Member, Nyrieanna Louis.
SOUL Interact Club Treasurer Sabrina Morales said, “Being a part of the Interact Club is fun. It is a cool experience because we get to work together to give back to the community. I am glad we were able to provide wreaths for the senior center.”
16 SOUL students and staff members participated in the wreath project, now in its eighth year. SOUL Principal Susan Lopez said, “Our Interact students are working hard to make a difference in our neighborhood with service projects like these. The smiles on the residents’ faces were a great reward for the time and energy spent by our students. The entire staff is proud of the Interact Club’s work.”
The holiday project was sponsored by the Cultural Arts Rotary Club of Fresno, which donated funds, wreaths, and decorating supplies.
