Diana Yepez, Lead WIC Nutrition Assistant, marks an incredible milestone this month, celebrating an astounding 40 years of service with Fresno EOC.

Diana’s journey with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program began in February 1984, when she joined as a WIC Clerk. Through her passion and hard work, she quickly advanced, being promoted to Nutrition Aide in 1987. However, it was in April 1996 that Diana found her true calling, landing her current position as a Lead Nutrition Assistant—a role she has since excelled in.

What sets Diana apart is not just her time at WIC, but her role in the evolution of the WIC program itself. She has witnessed and actively contributed to its transformation from the days of traveling to various mobile sites to issue paper vouchers in the 80s to the modern era of serving families remotely and issuing electronic food benefits. Diana’s journey and commitment has helped make the program stay effective and accessible to those who need it.

Recognizing her remarkable service and impact, Congressman Costa recently presented Diana with a Certificate of Recognition, acknowledging her milestone anniversary and invaluable contributions to the community. The presentation, conducted over Zoom, allowed the entire WIC team to join in the celebration and express their gratitude for Diana’s unwavering dedication and leadership.

As we honor Diana Yepez’s four decades of service, we not only celebrate her individual achievements but also the countless lives she has touched. Her journey serves as an inspiration to Fresno EOC, here’s to Diana and the next chapter of her remarkable journey with WIC!
