In April, Fresno EOC Head Start 0 to 5 staff took a trip to Portland, Oregon, with over 20 team members attending the National Head Start Association Conference. The conference was a week of learning, fun and activities with hundreds of peers from Head Start programs nationwide.

The conference provided an enriching experience for the team, offering opportunities to hear from keynote speakers, participate in panel discussions, and network with fellow Head Start advocates. It was a week filled with laughter, learning, and the exchange of invaluable experiences.

One of the many highlights was the presentation by Head Start 0 to 5 Director, Rosa Pineda, who proudly handed over a check totaling $3,055.65 to National Head Start Deputy Director, Tommy Sheridan for the Dollar per Child Annual Fundraising campaign. The campaign supports Head Start’s advocacy efforts on behalf of Head Start’s one million children and families, 275,00 staff, and their communities. This generous contribution, raised entirely by Fresno EOC Head Start 0 to 5, shows just how much Head Start means to the team.

As they return home to Fresno, our team brings back not just memories, but also new ideas and knowledge to make our Head Start program even better.
