LGBTQ+ Competency Training and Education is now available for you and your staff through Fresno EOC LGBTQ+ Resource Center.
Creating More Respectful Workplaces
The Fresno EOC LGBTQ+ Resource Center is a space where those who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning, and all others who fall outside of societal expectations of sex and gender can receive Fresno EOC support in a safe and sober environment. We are now offering to help create safe environments in other spaces through LGBTQ+ Competency Training. Our goal is to help grow compassion and competency in all social sectors of Fresno County by providing LGBTQ+ Competency Training and History workshops for classrooms, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
Fresno EOC LGBTQ+ Resource Center offers training for:
- Schools
- Businesses
- Organizations
- Individuals
- Groups
Some of our LGBTQ+ Competency Training topics covered:
- Gender identity
- Helping others to recognize and prevent misgendering
- Sexual orientation
- Archaic attitudes and beliefs
- Contemporary best practices for serving LGBTQ+ populations
- Experiences shared by members of the LGBTQ+ community
There will be a Q&A session where participants can ask anonymous questions.
As we recognize International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, we hope that you are able to reflect on the necessity of such programs and help us build a stronger community of LGBTQ+ allies, every day.
