On October 30th, 2023 the community is welcomed to come to Energy Services Weatherization Day event. Weatherization is a process of implementing free home repairs and replacements aimed at reducing utility costs, enhancing home safety, and promoting better health. These repairs typically include fixing broken or drafty windows, installing low-flow showerheads, adding insulation to walls, and repairing heating and cooling appliances at no cost to eligible households.
The event will be from 10am to 2pm at 1900 Mariposa St, Fresno CA 93721. The primary focus of this event is to educate and assist individuals and families in Fresno County in enrolling for weatherization resources that can help them save on energy costs and improve their homes. Attendees can also enjoy free food, music, games, and various giveaways during the event.
Low-income households and individuals residing in Fresno County, including both renters and homeowners, are encouraged to attend. The event is open to anyone seeking knowledge on how to lower their utility costs.
Participating in weatherization initiatives can significantly reduce overall utility costs, thereby promoting financial stability for low-income families dealing with daily expenses and the challenges of a rising economy. Additionally, addressing health hazards within the home can lead to improved overall health for everyone residing in it. Weatherization efforts ultimately enhance the quality of life for the household.
Though not a requirement, it’s preferred for attendees to bring their PG&E bill. This can aid in identifying specific programs that the household may qualify for. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to get a head start on the application process before the colder months arrive. This step can help ensure a timely response and assistance.
There will be multilingual speakers present at the event, offering assistance and information in various languages, including Spanish, English, Hmong, Punjabi, Laos, and Cambodian.
