What is the program about?
Corps members (participants) provide service to the community through paid vocational training while advancing their education.

How does the program work?
Corps member selection process includes:

  • Application review and selection
  • Invitation to a five day non-paid orientation
  • Panel interview
  • Final enrollment - Once enrolled into the Local Conservation Corps, you will be assigned to a crew and receive $8.00/hour for part time paid vocational training work in the community.  The corps member schedule alternates throughout program enrollment, one week in school-non-paid, one week paid vocational training. 

What is the age requirement to attend the vocational training program and charter school?
You must be between the ages of 18-25 for the vocational training program, 18-24 for the charter school at time of application.

Question:  What is the status of my application?
Applications are kept on file for 90 days. If you did not hear from us within the 90 days, this means your application was not selected. You are welcome to re-apply.
