Fresno EOC Food Services will soon launch its Winter Meals for Kids program, providing free meals for children at various locations during the winter break from school. Starting December 19, we will deliver to 5 locations in rural areas of Fresno County and 5 locations in the City of Fresno with our two Food Express buses. Anyone 18 years old and younger is invited to come on out and enjoy a nutritious meal on weekdays at no charge. This program is

37-year-old John Her, a Fresno father of three, says he had never been to Disneyland as a child. And now, he has taken his kids to the theme park twice. John says it’s the result of hard work and applying himself to learn a trade through Fresno EOC Valley Apprenticeship Connections (VAC). VAC is a job training program that prepares clients for a career in the construction industry. John completed the VAC program in 2019.

Students and staff at Fresno EOC School of Unlimited Learning (SOUL) delivered some holiday cheer to a local senior center on Friday, December 2. They created dozens of colorful Christmas wreaths for residents of the Healthcare Centre of Fresno, a nursing and rehabilitation center for seniors located near the high school in downtown Fresno. It was a welcome treat, as the center is not allowing the public in due to the uptick in COVID-19, Flu, and RSV cases.

A community activist, poverty fighter, and friend to all, Reverend Paul McCoy leaves a shining light for all to follow in our community. A peaceful community advocate Reverend Paul McCoy, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Reverend McCoy touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He led with a servant’s heart, organized, volunteered, and impacted many community members. He was a father, son, pastor, and friend who offered patience and kindness to everyone around

Fresno EOC’s Chief Executive Officer, Emilia Reyes, was presented with the Ohtli Award for her work to empower and advance Mexican citizens in the United States. It is the highest honor bestowed by the Mexican Government upon an individual. The ceremony took place at the Consulate of Mexico in Fresno on Friday, November 18, 2022. Younger parents may face the same challenges as all parents, and with those challenges, young parents may also struggle with trying to finish school, finding services for their baby, and being judged because of their age. America Recycles Day on November 15 encourages people to purchase recycled products and recycle more for a greener, cleaner environment. According to CalRecycle, the average Californian throws away about 2,000 pounds of garbage every year. Fresno EOC Local Conservation Corps offers many recycling services to help residents of Fresno County reduce their trash footprint, and most are free. Fresno EOC in Thailand

Members of Fresno EOC Health Services team are in Thailand to present a curriculum they helped to create at the 2022 International Conference on Family Planning. The digitally enhanced curriculum focuses on helping teens develop safe and healthy relationships and reducing teen pregnancies. The Safe Night Out Halloween event was a great success! An estimated 3,500 + family members came out to Southwest Fresno for the free event which featured haunted houses, a Trunk-or-Treat, games, and costume contests.
